The town hall meeting aims to bring all teams together to make important announcements, gather input, and share updates on ongoing projects. McCormack host town hall meetings every quarter, giving all teams—such as management, estimators, design, site & trades, marketing, and sales—the chance to communicate priorities and answer meaningful questions.
James Godfrey, our HSE Coordinator, highlighted the importance of these meetings by saying, “The Townhall sessions are a great chance to provide an update on the company’s health and safety performance and a chance to reach the hearts and minds of team members so that they not only take care of themselves but those around them. They also provide a chance to get involvement from team members to demonstrate the importance of being safe and preventing injuries from occurring”.
As a brand that lives and breathes our values of reliability, teamwork, trust, and progress, these town halls encourage our people to get involved by providing feedback that will be listened to in order to continue improving our organisation. Engaged staff are more likely to advocate for the company, enhancing these values. The town hall provides not only business updates but also recognises employees for their years of service, hard work, and peer-driven achievements among team leaders.
McCormack recently established its third national branch, joining Melbourne and Sydney, with our new Brisbane branch led by General Manager Stephen Raymond. The recent town hall provided a great opportunity for Stephen to address Melbourne and Sydney staff via Teams video call, offering insights on projects the team has been working on and potential works in the pipeline. He also introduced new staff who have been instrumental in launching our Brisbane branch. This transparent communication allows staff to learn more about national operations and builds a sense of unity and shared purpose across all locations.
By fostering transparency and regular communication, McCormack ensures that every team member, regardless of their location or role, feels included and informed. This approach not only enhances collaboration but also builds trust and strengthens the overall culture within the company. These meetings serve as a vital platform for celebrating successes, addressing challenges, and setting the stage for future growth, making McCormack a cohesive and forward-thinking organisation.
