Our team joined Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland (RMHSEQ) and the Brisbane Lions for a memorable week spent with families staying at the House.
The week began at Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, where families, Brisbane Lions AFL and AFLW players, and project partners came together for a fun-filled morning of activities. From building Jenga towers while dressed in PPE to meeting players and seeing the 2025 Brisbane Lions Premiership Cup up close, the event provided plenty of opportunities to connect, share stories and create lasting memories.
Later in the week, the Brisbane Lions hosted families and partners for a special captain’s run at the Gabba ahead of their Saturday night fixture. Having recently completed the Brisbane Lions merchandise store fit-out outside Gate 2, McCormack was proud to support an experience that allowed children and families from Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland to select their own Lions merchandise before watching the team train, meeting players and collecting autographs.
The experience concluded with families attending the game from a corporate suite at the Gabba. While the Lions fell short on the scoreboard, the smiles throughout the evening served as a reminder of the real impact partnerships like these can have for families navigating challenging circumstances.
Alongside these community initiatives, McCormack is currently delivering the fit-out of Level 7 at Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, located at 283 Vulture Street, Brisbane. The project will create new flexible accommodation spaces designed to support families while their children receive medical treatment.
Spending time with the families who will benefit from these spaces reinforced the importance of creating environments that provide comfort, support and a genuine sense of home during difficult times.
We look forward to sharing more about this project in the coming weeks, including video testimonials from key stakeholders and those helping bring these new accommodation spaces to life.
