It turns out we have a few sailors among us! Congratulations to Caddie Sanders, Youssef Elsaad, and Lorraine Jackson for leading the McCormack crew to first place in their division and going on to win the day. With over 700 guests at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, the day was not just about competition, it was about raising vital funds to create safe, stable housing for young people in need.

McCormack has long been committed to supporting PIF’s mission. Last year, our Sydney team was honoured to contribute to the Haven House Inner West, a seven-bedroom crisis accommodation facility for girls aged 12–17 facing trauma or instability at home. Working alongside local trades, we helped deliver essential refurbishments on behalf of The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and PIF, ensuring the space could continue to provide safety and support.

Reflecting on the impact, Caddie Sanders and Youssef Elsaad shared, “Being involved in Haven House was an incredible experience. Knowing we’ve helped create a space that will change someone’s life is a feeling that stays with you.”

At the Regatta, the team was surprised and humbled to receive a plaque recognising this work, an honour that will take pride of place in our office as a lasting reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a cause.

Next up? STEPS for Homeless Youth on May 9 at Albert Park. McCormack is stepping up as the Major Partner for this incredible event, continuing our commitment to making a real difference. If the Regatta was anything to go by, we’re hoping for another beautiful day, fingers crossed, Melbourne!
