Westjustice, a not-for-profit organisation providing free legal help to the people of West Melbourne, appointed McCormack as the builder for its 600m² office fitout project.
Westjustice chose our design and construct model, allowing us to manage both the design and build. This approach alleviated their pressure and enabled us to identify all site-related constraints and challenges early in the preliminary design phase. Design consultants Studio 103 incorporated solutions into the designs, minimising budget impacts and ensuring efficient project delivery.
As always, we strive to provide tailored technical solutions for our clients. One challenge we addressed involved laying tiles on top of the existing subfloor and grinding the access floor to ensure minimal ramping where the tiles met a different floor finish. Visitors are immediately drawn to the stunning views of Sunny Sunshine and the concrete effect painting applied to the reception counter, service cupboards, and walls. This value-managed paint finish turned out exceptionally well, maintaining the desired concrete look.
