McCormack was appointed by a leading consulting firm to fitout a 906m² office space in the prestigious Queen & Collins Tower. The design reflects a post-modern architectural ethos, blending colours and textures inspired by the Australian landscape to create a distinctive and harmonious environment.
The office boasts a flexible layout with breathtaking views of the CBD. The entrance features a sophisticated front-of-house area with elegant wall panelling, natural stone accents, and a welcoming lounge illuminated by a striking pendant light.
The client emphasised the importance of acoustic comfort for their front-of-house space. To meet this need, we installed an acoustic ceiling to minimise sound transfer and create a tranquil setting for high-profile clients.
In the meeting rooms, we implemented a triple-layer ceiling system consisting of two layers of Fyrecheck, a 50mm insulation cavity, and a perforated ceiling to reduce reverberation. Acoustic panels on the walls further enhance sound quality, ensuring a refined auditory experience throughout the office. This comprehensive system effectively provides acoustic separation and privacy, addressing the client’s requirements for sound transfer limits between rooms.
