McCormack was engaged to deliver the full-floor fit-out of Bourke Street Chambers, creating a refined legal workplace that balances individual focus with a sense of collective identity.
In collaboration with client-side project managers Mavenstone and design studio PTID, the project was conceived to support both the personal needs of sole barristers and the day-to-day rhythm of a professional community. The result is a calm, considered space defined by understated sophistication and functional elegance.
Spanning an entire level, the fit-out comprises 39 bespoke chambers, each meticulously tailored to its occupant’s specific requirements. A warm, inviting reception anchors the front-of-house experience, leading into a series of communal spaces including a fully appointed kitchen, breakout lounge, BOH meeting rooms, and utilities, all designed to encourage connection while maintaining discretion.
Every detail has been thoughtfully resolved to ensure a balance between privacy and collaboration, delivering a workplace that supports autonomy, while elevating the shared experience of chambers life.
