Quintessential, a property business specialising in the regeneration and development of commercial property, engaged McCormack to deliver its new Melbourne headquarters at L3, 90 Collins Street, relocating from its previous workplace at 30 Collins Street.
The project involved delivering a 740sqm workplace while retaining key elements of the existing fitout, including meeting room sliding doors, the boardroom, communications rooms, partitions, and furniture. The approach prioritised efficient reuse of materials while integrating new construction and services to suit the client’s operational requirements.
Studio 103 was tasked with carefully blending new interventions with the retained elements. The design emphasises the natural qualities of Australian timbers, referencing and complementing the existing native timber grain throughout the space.
A full-floor layout and exclusive rooftop access create a workplace that supports both focused work and collaboration, while offering flexible spaces for informal meetings, staff breaks and client events.
