McCormack was appointed by Mostyn Copper to reposition 18 Smith Street, Parramatta, delivering a comprehensive ground-floor lobby upgrade, full façade rectification, and Level 1 demolition and services works.

A major component of the project was the rectification and replacement of the existing façade steel structure, along with the installation of new façade panels, works that significantly improve the building’s performance, longevity, and street presence.

Inside, the ground-floor lobby was redefined with a new heritage steel structure installation and a refined lighting strategy, including slender pendant fittings aligned with timber ceiling battens to create a consistent, warm arrival experience.

The project also incorporates a key heritage element: the preserved 1820s Parramatta Town Drain, displayed beneath a structurally engineered glass floor. This original brick barrel drain remains an active piece of infrastructure and provides a unique historical anchor within the upgraded space.

Well done to the entire team involved. This asset is well-positioned within the Parramatta business precinct and is prepared for its next phase of occupancy.
