The launch of Asahi Beverages’ new APAC headquarters marks a major step for the business, creating a space for connection, collaboration and flexible ways of working. The move brings 1000+ team members into a single environment, aligning people, capability and brands.
From the outset, the focus was clear: create a workplace that unifies teams, supports future growth and balances operational performance with employee experience. This approach enabled strong alignment across design, cost and programme, resulting in a solution that meets both immediate and long-term objectives. Spanning across six levels, we now welcome them to their new 8,800m2 home at 2 Southbank Boulevard.
Each floor works as part of a cohesive whole, structured across distinct but connected zones. Levels 19 and 20 operate as the social hub floors, connected by a distinct feature staircase, while Levels 13 and 16–19 host the core working environments. A secondary staircase links these working floors, allowing functional traffic for the high-performing, efficient environments that underpin the workplace. Each floor is designed with open-plan areas, meeting rooms, and focused work zones, creating a consistent and flexible framework, supported by integrated spaces for collaboration, training and product engagement, embedding key business functions into everyday use.
The showpiece in this space is undoubtedly Level 20, offering an impressive shift in scale and atmosphere with its double-height ceilings. A suspended curved LED installation sits above the central bar, made up of 320 individually fixed panels that shift in line with brand identity, whilst the opposite end hosts an operational café. This floor acts as a central hub for staff and clients, for events, informal use and team connection.
The delivery required significant structural and services coordination. Two new interconnecting staircases were constructed through staged slab penetrations and temporary works, with careful sequencing to maintain structural integrity. This was matched by complex services integration across all levels, ensuring the performance of the space aligned with the design intent.
Delivered within programme and budget, the project responds directly to a complex brief, bringing together design, delivery and operational outcomes into a single, cohesive workplace. Managing up to 180 trades onsite daily across a seven-day schedule required significant planning and coordination. Our strong value alignment with Asahi Beverages garnered a truly strong relationship, which was instrumental to the project’s success, a workplace that brings their people together and supports how they work.
We’re proud to have played a role in delivering this project and to have partnered with a team so committed to getting it right.
