McCormack completed a refurbishment of the end-of-trip facilities at 9 Castlereagh St as part of the building’s asset repositioning. WMK Architecture focused on delivering a design that retained and repurposed materials, creating a “ReCharge” zone that boosts morale and energy. This space features a bold modern colour palette, resulting in a vibrant and sophisticated ambiance. One tenant even remarked that they felt like they were at a retreat upon arrival.
The project’s key successes included utilising existing lockers and reconfiguring their layout. A standout feature was the installation of vertical transport, providing lift access to B1 and B2, which previously only had stair access to B2, with storage in B1. Additionally, perimeter lighting was added to the common areas of B1 and B2, enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality.
