Architect/Design: Bates Smart
Project: RACV City Club Business Centre
Address: 501 Bourke Street, Melbourne
The RACV Business Centre provides a contemporary, co-working environment which has membership available to both City Club members and the general public.
As part of a larger strategy for the City Club, the business centre has been designed to attract a wide audience to this 24 hour, contemporary, urban amenity.
Occupying two levels, the Business Centre is accessed via a new, dedicated lift lobby, entered off New Chancery Lane. Level one provides a relaxed, open plan environment with a welcoming café and reception space. A light-filled double height working lounge features spectacular views of the heritage facades along Flinders Lane, connecting the club to the urban streetscape. Planting and room divider consoles provide scale and soften the architectural volume. Fabric lined booths create quiet working spaces, intimate scale and atmosphere.
In contrast, level two provides a more traditional working environment, with generous lounge, hot desks, meeting rooms and a large conference space.
Both levels host a variety of working and meeting modes, complemented by support facilities including generous lounge settings phone booths, print stations, tea points, day lockers and dedicated bathroom amenities.
