The Brief

To carry out works to create a dedicated place that supports the tenants using non-motorised ways to travel to and from their place of work rather than driving or taking public transport.  The works included secure bike racks, lockers and change rooms where cyclists, joggers and walkers can shower, change and secure their belongings.

Our Solution

The complexities/obstacles of this project was to find a way to effectively re-use part of an existing car park area and turn it into a brand new, modern, workable End Of Trip space to encourage the people in the building to use a non-motorised form of transport; therefore promoting a healthier way of life. Due to the space being a highly trafficked area the challenge for McCormack was to get the works completed as quickly as possible and with as little disturbance to the tenants a. To achieve the desired outcome; to the high expectations of the client, McCormack worked to a very tight 12 week time frame with weekly site progress meetings with the stakeholders, covering all areas such as lead times, programme status, variations etc.

Site conditions, restriction loading materials, coordination of trades, liaising with different consultants and Builder Surveying were the mains challengers that our team had to face to successfully finish this project.
