About This Project
Unit 4, 9 Pentridge Boulevard, Coburg
Client: 151 Property
Architect: Merat Architects
Merri Health, a non-for-profit community health provider, who are committed to creating and supporting healthy and connected communities underwent a complete rebrand of their company. Part of their new strategic plan was to transform not only the quality of their services but their office environment and internal culture. One of their core values based around innovation, behind this theory “You Grow, We Grow” reflected this very principle in their new office fitout design.
One of the key features was to create a space that would move their business away from the non-for-profit stigma and drive them more towards a goal-oriented organisation. Their new strategic focus was on creating an outstanding customer experience through genuine relationships, positive outcomes and community presence.
With our strong relationship with 151 Property, McCormack were awarded the role to undertake the fitout of their new 1000sqm space alongside designers, Merat Architects.
The building portion of the project included services upgrades and structural works.
With a short timeframe to complete the works, and with the space being below a multi-story building with apartments above, the challenge being within a live environment was to ensure noise levels were scheduled and programmed correctly to minimise disruption.
On completion of the works, it was imperative that all elements of the project were taken into consideration. With the large external platform installed to the side of the building, large amounts of private offices were installed so this was extremely labour intensive and scheduled carefully into the program. Integration of AV and boardroom furniture also were main features of this project.
Through well timed and collaborative team effort between our trades and contractors we were able to deliver a modern office space with lots of light in staff areas, a large breakout area that would encourage staff communication and collaboration which fell in line with Merri Health’s new strategic plan.
“Merri Health and BDS Projects were great to work with and open to all of our ideas and solutions which made the whole process streamlined and really enjoyable.” – Simon Mowlam, McCormack Project Manager.
