About This Project

Bundoora & City Campus, Melbourne

The Brief

In 2014, McCormack was provide with a unique opportunity to offer key facilities support and specialist refurbishment project works on behalf of the LaTrobe Facilities & Infrastructure Team. Areas of key specialist support included PC2 certification compliance works and building fabric remedial works.

Our Solution

During the annual auditing and maintenance program, there were a range of urgent compliance remedial works required to be undertaken to ensure that critical PC1 & 2 laboratory areas met prescribed government obligations. With a very small window of opportunity to complete and return the laboratory areas to a compliant operational status, McCormack successfully engaged and managed the delivery of multiple specialized trades. With historical PC laboratory experience, McCormack was able to provide LaTrobe with a single point of resource for the effective delivery of these remedial works.

As part of their ongoing asset improvement works, McCormack has developed and provided LaTrobe with a systematic painting program for the accommodation building fabric. During 2015, significant progress and improvements have been mad to both the fabric condition and aesthetic value of the greater campus accommodation areas.

‘I found working with Dean from McCormack to be a pleasure, he was a reliable and knowledgeable person. Who on every occasion took the time to understand what was required for the project, he sought an understanding of area in which he was working, the requirements and standard required to achieve a successful outcome. His work was always completed to a very high standard first time, every time. I had great confidence in leaving a particular project or body of work to be completed as per the brief by him without the need for follow up.’
