Dow Chemical’s recent move to an A-grade commercial office tower in Collins Street, the heart of Melbourne’s financial precinct, called for a new office fit from McCormack Property Services. The brief was to create a contemporary work space, complete with reception, boardroom and breakout spaces. Corporate office spaces also needed to be incorporated into the back of house open plan area.
Working closely with relevant specialists, McCormack’s project team provided an alternative re-design to ensure potential issues could be managed effectively. With long lead times for some of the key materials, McCormack efficiently managed the sign off, ensuring the programme was able to go ahead as scheduled.
The overall design delivers a modern, bright, spacious office that incorporates multiple breakout areas, pods and zones and provides an overall sense of harmony and flow. New feature ceilings brighten up the abundant space and, with the corporate offices located on the perimeter of the open plan area, there is a sense of well-designed cohesiveness in true Scandinavian style. Natural wood features and green walls throughout add texture and provide a sense of tranquillity. The addition of colourful vintage Dow advertisements complements the natural tones and give a nod to the company’s history and brand reputation.
