Brief & Solution
McCormack were contracted by Cushman & Wakefield to construct a high-end fit out for Microsoft’s new Melbourne office. Working to an extremely strict five-week program and within a live environment, it was crucial that McCormack were able to mobilise all trades and run a complex and detailed program without delay. The finished product successfully met budget and timeframe requirements whilst also delivering IA Design Groups stunning architectural design which was integrated with a state-of-the-art AV package.
Split over three levels and 3,000m2, the space was created to incorporate a Customer Experience Journey with digital walls, demonstrations zones, interactive learning spaces, motion censored feature lighting connecting meeting rooms, multipurpose presentation rooms and seminar spaces.
The spaces were orchestrated to connect with the occupant promoting active learning through technology and to provide flexible social zones. Lighting and technology were used to draw the occupant on a journey through the fitout to discover the individual zones around curved corners.
The design included natural materials and textures throughout to establish a warm and inviting space for both staff and visitors. Careful use of colour encourages a sense of playfulness and fun, whilst natural materials and colour blend together to create a vibrant and balanced space.
