Brief

The brief for 567 Collins Street was to cleverly update and modernise the retail colonnade and forecourt areas of the building. New joinery was required in the colonnade area along with light poles and planter boxes in the forecourt area. The planter boxes needed to include landscaping and timber seating to suit a high-traffic area and create an attractive space for eating and relaxation.

 Solution

This project was the result of almost two years of design and planning with the final work transforming what started as straightforward construction pieces into beautiful artworks. A live environment, particularly on busy Collins Street is always a challenge, however with plenty of pre-planning, McCormack’s team ensured seamless delivery of the project with minimal disruption.

The result is a striking display of warm timber and feature lighting contrasted with cool concrete and glass, lending a contemporary vibe to the once-stark forecourt. The elegant curved timber seating solution and planter boxes soften the concrete, glass and steel backdrop.
