About This Project

Level 1, 150 Collins Street, Melbourne

The Brief

McCormack, in collaboration with Studio 103, worked with Accuraco to design and construct an empty, open plan tenancy on Collins Street, Melbourne that had minimal light and windows – both an exciting and a challenging project for everyone involved. Accuraco contracted design and construct experts McCormack to deliver the office design and fitout to create a brighter, warmer and more inviting space that would entice tenants to lease out the floor.

Our Solution

To make the most of the available light, McCormack and Studio 103 located the breakout area right next to the windows to ensure natural light flows through into the open plan workstation area. Extra lighting was added to the general work space, along with pendant and wall lights and the warm neutral colour palette provides a bright and open space to suit a variety of tenants and not clash with individual branding or taste. Textures include warm, classic oak timbers and soft greys to give a timeless look and feel. Timber feature screens, a beautiful reception counter and booth seating create warmth and sophistication. Carefully placed partitions and joinery also mean the existing difficultly-placed access panels can be utilised in the future.
