McCormack Property Services was asked to complete an extensive lift lobby upgrade in one of Melbourne’s most prestigious addresses at 101 Collins Street. The brief was to create an atmosphere that would ‘wow’ people as they walked through the lobby area. The project also involved the refurbishment of lobbies and toilets across multiple levels of this high-status office building.
The project required ultimate flexibility to work within client and tenant requirements. To ensure there was little disruption to tenants moving in and out of the building and to maintain the impressive look of the existing ground floor, McCormack’s building and construction specialists worked behind a specially designed canvas awning while the upgrade was being carried out. One of the complexities was working on tenanted floors and ensuring alternative facilities were provided, disruptions were minimised and occupant safety was ensured. To achieve this, out-of-hours and weekend works were carried out in order to meet the programme. The results are striking – the lift lobby blends seamlessly into the design and appeal of the overall building.
